Ennepetal/Munich. The DORMA stand at the BAU trade fair in Munich from January 14 to 19, 2013 is white with red color accents. It features multimedia technology and a clean, linear design. As such it reflects the compelling dynamism and innovative strength of the new brand, due to be unveiled to an international trade audience for the first time.
“As a premium supplier, we want to enthrall our customers with our first-class, innovative products and services, offering them the ultimate in access solutions,” explains Thomas P. Wagner, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of the DORMA Group. “Our new brand identity – including the claim “DORMA. THE ACCESS.” – distils the essence of these objectives, and our impressive booth at BAU impressively reflects our credentials.”
The BAU fair is the leading international industry forum for architects, specifiers, fabricators and installers, and this is the first year that DORMA will have one single exhibition booth at the event. Reflecting DORMA’s BAU 2013 slogan “From Today to Tomorrow,” the company’s stand has two levels creating an eye-catching showcase of the new brand. Fair visitors can explore various themed zones and product settings while acquainting themselves with DORMA’s five brand values under the headings Hassle-free, Holistic, Design & Aesthetics, Quality and Innovation.
Measuring seven meters in width, an LED wall in the entrance area presents the new campaign images, welcoming visitors as they enter the 850 m2 booth. The adjacent theme zones – “Stadium,” “Hotel” and “Interior” – feature products and solutions relating to sport stadiums, the hotel industry and interior design, all satisfying the highest demands in terms of visual appearance and functionality. The products on display can also be explored in digital form: Touch-sensitive panels allow visitors to enter virtual rooms and examine the various solutions in their given application.
The exterior of the DORMA stand’s upper floor is entirely in red, making it visible from afar. It is devoted to the key topics of innovation and design and is intended to reflect the company’s innovative power. As a laboratory for the access solutions of tomorrow, this zone offers forward-looking design and product studies representing a cross-section of DORMA’s mainstream portfolio and underscoring the company’s determination to offer innovative, high-quality and integrated solutions.
The access concepts of the future that are on display here include a revolving door with an extremely flat, noiseless direct-drive operator (no gearbox) that affords architects and specifiers new options with respect to design and installation. The low-profile operator system likewise enables elegant ceiling constructions, making complicated ground work for installing an underfloor operator a thing of the past. Furthermore, a new DORMA generation of door closers developed by the company is presented. Boasting outstanding ease of use, the new series has a modified functional principle that permits an ultra-flat design, resulting in a innovative installation position. In future, moreover, it will be possible to configure and operate electronic profile cylinders from DORMA with ease using mobile communication devices (smartphones or tablet computers).
“When we talk about innovation, we always mean creating intelligent access solutions focused on people and their changing requirements – for example, the burgeoning demand for barrier-free building to satisfy the needs of an ever more mobile society, and the increasing global desire for greater safety and security. To this end we develop our products in close collaboration with our customers in the field, taking account of prevailing and predicted market conditions,” reports Thomas P. Wagner. “Not only do we have production facilities on almost every continent, we also pursue a carefully thought-out R&D investment program in key growth regions. For instance, since last year we have been operating our own development facilities in both India and Singapore.”
DORMA is responsible for more than 150 million access solutions around the globe, and the company’s products can be found in a wealth of acclaimed building projects. From the National Museum in Beijing through the Chancellery in Berlin to the United Nations in New York, DORMA is a trusted global partner for premium access solutions and services enabling better buildings.
At BAU 2013, DORMA will be offering regular tours of its own stand. It is also one of the sponsors of the “Long Night of Architecture” on January 18, 2013. This event comprises visits to well-known buildings in Munich featuring product solutions from DORMA.
