History



Jerry McLeroy began Carolina Door Controls as a small family business in Durham, North Carolina to sell, install and service automatic doors for commercial applications. His goal was to create a company that would maintain integrity, conduct business in a fair and competitive manner and most importantly, provide superior customer service. It is evident that the goal has been achieved with over thirty years of continued growth and customer relationships. However, the employees of Carolina Door Controls still strive to meet this goal every day just as Jerry has upheld this philosophy since he began his career installing automatic doors. Since the beginning he has remained dedicated to the products he has sold and to his customers.

In January, 2005, Carolina Door Controls became a part of the DORMA Group of businesses in the United States.  This agreement now allows DORMA to combine its own abilities with its automatic door product development and manufacturing operations and accelerate the growth of this segment of our business.   CDC joins DORMA Automatics and Crane Revolving Door as in integral part of our long term growth strategy in this portion of the DGNA under the name DORMA Entrance Systems™.
