International activities regarding sustainability

The following international activities regarding sustainability have already been performed or ar planned for the future.

 

  • Product End of Usefule Life Recycle Program
    DORMA Architectural Hardware (USA) recognizes the importance of maintaining a policy which encourages environmentally responsible practices for the proper processing and disposal of products which have reached the end of their useful life.
    Under this program, DORMA Architectural Hardware will manage the recycling and/or disposal of any DORMA Architectural Hardware manufactured or branded products which have reached the end of their life cycle and beyond the product’s warranty period, should the owner be unable to perform this function. DAH provides this service free of charge.

  • Participation in trade fairs and events regarding sustainability
    DORMA takes part on several international trade fairs and events (e.g. ecobuild 2012 in London) and offers specialist presentations or seminars regarding sustainability.
  • DORMA Think Green
    The issue of sustainability is becoming increasingly important in modern construction planning and architectural design. Active measures to prevent climate change and the introduction of specific technologies to save energy are widely accepted and recognised as necessary by large sections of our society. DORMA has long been a proponent of 'green' thinking. Environmentally sound and manufactured from top-grade materials, DORMA products have always excelled through high quality and the longevity that goes with it. And this is precisely why DORMA products are given such preference by many architects, particularly in building projects aligned to sustainability.   • Certification of DORMA's international sites
    The certification of all international sites regarding ISO 14001 and ISO 16001 is planned for the future if not already done.
