DORMA sales pass one billion euros for the first time
Ennepetal, Germany. For the first time in its history, the DORMA Group has reached the billion euro mark in revenues. According to its provisional, still to be certified financial statements, the company posted consolidated sales amounting to something in excess of € 1 billion (previous year: € 944.4 million).
“Reaching a billion euros in revenues means we have passed one of the milestones of our “DORMA 2020” growth program, further strengthening our position as a premium provider of access solutions enabling better buildings,” says Thomas P. Wagner, DORMA CEO and Chairman of its Executive Board. “Our strategy of offering complete, integrated access solutions has been thoroughly successful and we see enormous potential for our business going forward, particularly in the emerging markets. At the same time, we need to remain flexible in our ability to serve the world’s more volatile markets and in further enhancing the global competitiveness of our products.”
The new sales record also underscores the success of the “DORMA 2020” growth program per se. At its base is the company’s ambition to increase sales to € 2 billion and expand its workforce to around 10,000 employees by the year 2020. It also entails DORMA extending its presence to 80 countries around the world.
“DORMA’s strategic realignment in the last two years took us an important step forward. We now find ourselves on a solid footing for sustainable success in the future,” states Karl-Rudolf Mankel, Managing Shareholder of the DORMA Group.
Among the primary success factors of the last financial year, the company cites the expansion of its international presence into strategically important markets and the development of new sales territories. As examples, DORMA has established joint ventures with Rafi Shapira in Israel and TC Intelligent Lock in China. With the new DORMA subsidiaries in Ghana, Kenya and Qatar, and also the acquisition of companies in the USA, Australia and Korea, the company has succeeded in further expanding its position in a number of important markets. In all, the DORMA Group is now represented in more than 50 countries worldwide.
DORMA will be announcing its key financials at its autumn 2012 press conference to coincide with publication of its annual report.
