DORMA takes over US company CDC

Now world’s number one in the automatic door systems segment

Ennepetal, Germany. Door systems manufacturer DORMA has taken over the US company Carolina Door Controls (CDC), putting it into first place as the world’s largest supplier of automatic door equipment and services.

Through CDC, DORMA now owns the largest independent network in the USA for the sale, installation and servicing of automatic door systems. “This acquisition is key to our growth strategy in relation to the global servicing business. With CDC, DORMA has risen to the world number one spot in the sale and service of automatic door systems,” underlined DORMA CEO Dr. Michael Schädlich.

With a workforce of around 240 employees in 20 branches spread over the eastern side of the USA, CDC generates annual sales in the region of US$ 50 million. The head offices of CDC are located in Durham, North Carolina. The CDC management team is to remain unchanged.
