DORMA wins “Plus X Award” for branded consumer products

Convenience benefits of the PORTEO “Door Assistant” recognised

Cologne/Ennepetal. The high-convenience DORMA PORTEO swing door operator has garnered the “Plus X Award” for consumer products in the “Lifestyle Technology” product category. This year’s prize-winners in the fourth holding of this annual competition have just been announced in Cologne, with a 19-member jury having selected as the prize-winners – from an initial entry of over 700 candidate manufactures – a total of 226 brandname products in eleven categories. As patron of the Plus X Awards, the Minister for Innovation for the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Professor Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, opened the awards ceremony, addressing a few words of welcome to the assembled guests.

The PORTEO “door assistant”, only recently launched on the occasion of BAU, the premier construction trade fair held in Munich, enables doors to be operated without muscle power. This plug-in door operator is easy to install and, once fitted, can respond in a number of ways – by sensing the pressure of an initial opening action, activated by a switch or operated by a radio transmitter. In all cases, it closes the door automatically after a preset hold-open time.
