More security in corporate environments
‘Access on Demand’ from MBB Gelma offers full adaptability to customer requirements
Bonn, Germany. Major corporations and public authorities require particularly adaptable and efficient access control systems. With ‘Access on Demand’ from MBB Gelma, flexible solutions can be implemented from simple anti-intruder protection to high-security wing. The sophisticated modular system from MBB Gelma is capable of satisfying a broad range of requirements while remaining a discreet, background presence. Whether it be new organisational procedures, modified responsibilities and competences or changes in room usage – whatever the requirement, the ‘Access on Demand’ concept enables easy implementation the new task profile.
This innovative access control system also constitutes an effective tool in visitor management with, for example, initial registration, the issue of day IDs and the management of employees from external companies. With the access control system from MBB Gelma, presence monitoring, alarm management with a location/layout plan, and whole-floor access release are a simple matter, as is the integration of CCTV, an alarm system or key safes. Needless to say, all the necessary ID generation and allocation functions plus a variety of application-specific databases can also be incorporated as required.
New terminal components in 19-inch module design
Irrespective of the security requirements needing to be accommodated, the customer is at liberty to decide which components, functions and recording features are to be integrated within the system. Two enclosure designs facilitate installation planning. The new generation of MBB Gelma access control units can be mounted for easy servicing in any standardised 19-inch server chassis or installed for maximum compactness on the top hat rail of switchgear/control cabinets. The new terminal controllers are available with options such as LON, LAN or modem connection and also as a wall or desktop units. Hence it is not the technology that sets the limits but rather the customer’s requirements.
Two interfaces are provided for integrating up to 20 access control readers at distances of up to six kilometres. The processing capacity extends from 1,000 to 200,000 employees. Legacy equipment can also be incorporated within the new architecture – the MBB Gelma system operates with all common proximity reader systems. It is also designed for combination with long-range antennae, keypads and biometric monitoring systems such as fingerprint sensors.
DORMA offers a wide range of styles and materials from the DORMA System 55 device box program for both readers and door modules, ensuring elegant, discrete harmonisation with the interior architecture.
Time acquisition with the same hardware
MBB Gelma’s ‘Access on Demand’ architecture is of modular design to allow for easy modification and expansion. As a major benefit, the same hardware can also be used for time acquisition applications.
