DORMA to showcase individualised design combined with modern technologies at BAU 2007

Ennepetal/Germany. Consistently high design quality has traditionally been one of the characterising features of DORMA’s products and systems. At its BAU 2007 exhibition stand in Munich, DORMA will be demonstrating in the “Public/Office” section how exceptional design, modern door technologies and individual architecture can be combined to produce a harmonious and functional whole. The cross-product styling system implemented is characterised by an integral appearance with standardised aluminium covers for door closers and slide channels.

Distinct design lines and maximum functionality are also incorporated in the
TS 93 cam-action door closer system now available in the prize-winning Contur format. For example, the door co-ordinator, the electronic hold-open device and the integral smoke detector with power pack can each be accommodated within a slide channel measuring just 30 millimetres high (models EMF, EMR or GSM). The TS 93 Contur represents a modular system that, with just a few closer models and a choice of slide channels, is able to satisfy virtually any conceivable functional requirement.

At BAU 2007, the company will also be showing a solution from its PHA 2500 Panic Hardware product line in which the panic exit device is combined with a range of emergency escape locks to produce a double-leaf narrow-stile door compliant with EN 1125 – a solution likewise characterised by design harmony as well as outstanding technical features.

DORMA ENTRY combines façade options and entrance solutions
Façades and entrances of glass are highly popular in contemporary architecture. In keeping with this mainstream design trend, DORMA is presenting for the first time an innovative combination of three standardised façade systems and four door concepts. The “DORMA ENTRY” portfolio encompasses tried and tested glazing hardware systems (RODAN, MANET, LOOP) plus manual and automatic door solutions. The exhibition stand is showcasing a typical application in the form of a trussed RODAN glass façade with double-leaf TEGO Glass entrance and a braced RODAN canopy. The integrated CD 160 swing door operator offers impressive, virtually silent operating smoothness and features mechanical decoupling of the door closer and drive system.

The advantages of this new range are obvious: minimised design input, high planning and costing reliability plus fast and secure order clarification to further reduce admin and processing expenditure.

DORMA MOVEO for on-demand wall relocation and room configuration
Modern construction projects such as administrative buildings, hotels, conference centres, exhibition facilities and education or leisure amenities need to be as flexible as possible in terms of quickly implementing alternative room configurations. Convenience, safety, sound insulation and an attractive appearance loom large in the list of requirements specified by architects and clients alike. Offering advanced technologies, DORMA Hüppe Raumtrenn-systeme (part of the DORMA Movable Walls division) is able to fully meet such demands with its new MOVEO system solution. With DORMA MOVEO, different space utilisation concepts can now be implemented faster than ever before. Eliminating the need for rigid walls, MOVEO enables areas to be confined, contained, combined, expanded or restricted in just a few moments – and always precisely in accordance with prevailing spatial requirements. Thanks to the revolutionary lightweight construction system, adapted from aircraft manufacturing technology, MOVEO operable partitions are ideal not only for new construction projects but also for retrofitting within existing buildings.

World innovation MOVEO HERMES: fully automatic and sound-absorbing
Offering even more quiet convenience, the MOVEO HERMES with acoustic surface and fully automatic control will be unveiled to the world by DORMA for the first time at BAU 2007. Each partition element is equipped with its own drive motor. At the push of a button, the panels travel automatically from their stacking location to their predetermined position. Without any further operator intervention, the integrated ComforTronic actuator then takes over, interlocking the elements, sealing them against the ceiling and floor, and securing the partition. A sound-absorbing acoustic surface further reduces resonance and exudes a pleasant calm for the perfect in-room ambience. The MOVEO HERMES is destined to be one of the “must haves” for multi-functional facilities in prestigious construction projects.

OGRO CREATE offers architects extended design scope
Individuality is important both to clients and to ambitious architects wishing to “put their stamp” on every detail of their project work. Architectural hardware manufacturer OGRO of Velbert/Germany, member of the DORMA Group and specialist for bespoke door and window handles, is able to accommodate the particular requirements of such clientele. This specialist service accommodating small-batch orders is fully geared up to satisfy individual design demands with the utmost competence and quality. By providing this new dimension in design, the OGRO CREATE programme enables projects to be planned down to the last detail. The DORMA exhibition stand in Munich will be showcasing a selection of lever handle models manufactured for stylistically demanding projects on behalf of the designer Giorgio Armani (OGRO Bendo) and various well known architec-tural practices such as Cossmann/de Bruyn, Canali/Botti or Kister/Scheithauer/ Gross.
