DORMA extends TEGO System to Hörmann aluminium profile doors

Ennepetal/Germany. DORMA’s holistic, systematic approach is one of the major themes being showcased by its 540 square metre stand at BAU 2007 in Munich. Here, the company’s TEGO door systems are a major focal point, with DORMA demonstrating how individual applications can be integrated within an all-encom-passing platform to give truly tailored customer solutions.

This advanced and future-proof DORMA door system offers flexible adaptability to building user requirements, whether these be for automation, access control or emergency exit security. And should the room utilisation patterns, pedestrian routes or safety and security requirements change, TEGO can be quickly and inexpensively adapted to the new requirements. The TEGO system also offers problem-free networking and control via the DORMA Connect and Work (DCW), LON and LAN systems. Thanks to its modular design, the TEGO system – available in all-glass, narrow-stile steel and now aluminium – is up to 30% cheaper to install than conventional door systems.

New door solutions featuring Hörmann aluminium profiles
One of the highlights of the DORMA stand is the TEGO aluminium narrow-stile solution developed by the company in collaboration with Hörmann, a renowned specialist in aluminium profile systems. All the electronic modules and also the door closer are invisibly concealed in the slender frame sections. This opens up completely new perspectives for creative solutions with the optical advantages of the profile framed door elegantly complementing the renowned application flexibility embodied in the TEGO system. Smoke and fire tests have been successfully completed and the door system – like all other TEGO solutions –
is also vandalism-protected.

The TEGO Alu system featuring the Hörmann profiles elegantly integrates components from DORMA’s Automatic, Security/Time and Access Control (STA), Door Control and Glass divisions. Indeed, all kinds of features can be incorporated within the frame profile: emergency exit control; access control via keypad, transponder or fingerprint reader; monitoring and security devices such as CCTV cameras and emergency pushbuttons; speaker modules for voice output and, of course, an integrated operator. The “TEGO Profile Alu Hörmann” range offers high functional quality without visually disruptive elements impairing the door’s intrinsic appeal. It can thus be rightly regarded as one of the most flexible and innovative profile door solutions available anywhere in the world.

The DORMA system consultancy service and single-source supply capability enable door system integration via DCW bus, LON and LAN. Installation is particularly easy and convenient, as is retrofitting to meet growing demands. The maintenance and servicing are also highly cost-effective.

Proven multi-functional door systems in a networked configuration
At BAU 2007, DORMA will be demonstrating the networking of its TEGO Profile and TEGO Connect doors via the TMS door management system. Parameter configuration is implemented using the DORMA TMS Soft program and there is the added option of system control via the DORMA Winguard Doormanager. All the functions will be fully demonstrated to fair visitors attending the stand.

The exhibits will include not only aluminium profile doors but also the proven steel system solutions under the TEGO Connect banner, implemented in collaboration with market leader BOS BestOfSteel. These feature integrated PHA 2500 Panic Hardware plus emergency exit security and access control devices concealed within the door frames. The electronic modules are mounted in the frame uprights while the door operator is concealed in the transom profile. The BOS frames on show are combined with HOBA door leaves. TEGO Connect is the preferred solution for refurbishment projects and can be efficiently expanded and updated as requirements evolve.

DORMA is also presenting steel and stainless steel profile systems developed in collaboration with Forster. TEGO Profile Steel FORSTER offers all the usual flexibility associated with DORMA, together with the typical product qualities that come with the TEGO name.

Also on show at the DORMA stand is the TEGO Glass system of all-glass swing doors featuring MANET single-point fixings in combination with a DORMA door operator offering adjustable opening, closing and hold-open time settings.
