BAU 2007: DORMA to showcase comprehensive system solutions and services circling the door
One world innovation and eleven exhibition premieres – with Private Home as a new target group module
Ennepetal/Germany. World-leading door systems and technology specialist DORMA will be offering visitors to BAU 2007 – Europe’s premier construction fair taking place in Munich between January 15 and 20 – a comprehensive overview of its product and service portfolio. Under its trade show banner “Products and more”, the company is occupying exhibition floor space totalling 540 square metres at Stand 512 in Hall B1. There it will be showcasing not only a representative range of integrated solutions reflecting the renowned DORMA system approach but also a broad spectrum of customer-focused services. “Nowadays, the purchaser not only expects us to provide first-class products but also a comprehensive range of support activities both prior to and after the sale,” explains Dr. Michael Schädlich, CEO of the DORMA Group. “This client added value available from DORMA will be very prominent on our exhibition stand this year.” The extended customer-focused range includes particularly user-friendly system planning configurators and eShop facilities, services aligned to the DORMA System Partners network and DORMA’s new, individually tailorable maintenance and servicing concept. On the hardware side, an additional exhibition module has been introduced covering “Private Home” applications. And there will also be plenty that’s new and exciting in the products domain, as evidenced by a world innovation in the form of the MOVEO HERMES partition system, and a total of eleven exhibition premieres.
Private Home: more convenience for discerning private customers
For the first time and with an allocation of around 100 square metres of exhibition floor space, DORMA is presenting a range of solutions aligned to private clients in response to the increasing demand of this target group for products offering quality, design and convenience. The new Private Home portfolio ranges from completely transparent glass door systems with no visible fittings, to prestige shower cubicles. The company’s main point of entry into this owner-occupier market takes the form of an attention-grabbing exhibition newcomer: the DORMA VISUR glass door. This not only offers completely uncluttered transparency achieved through mechanism concealment and the total absence of visible fittings, but also creates an effective sound barrier.
The fact that automatic sliding doors, too, can make homes more comfortable and convenient is underlined by DORMA with its CELSIUS operator, a product that effectively combines compact dimensions with discreet styling.
DORMA recently acquired MAME Türendesign GmbH (Hall B4, Stand 506), Germany’s market leader in the field of surface-treated all-glass doors. Through its distribution channel in the form of the timber and construction components trade, this now DORMA subsidiary is represented throughout Europe at around
2,000 exhibitions and is regarded as the benchmark product and service supplier in the field of interior fixtures and fittings for the private home sector.
Ensuring enhanced convenience, the PORTEO door assistant opens and closes doors at the push of a button or via the effortless “Push&Go” mode. As a retrofittable swing door operator, the PORTEO is ideal as an automatic “doorman” not only for discriminating private householders, but also for applications serving the increasing number of senior citizens. And for the first time, DORMA is also showcasing the latest GRAL shower systems – again in its Private Home section – offering further quality enhancement with MANET type fittings and an innovative rising hinge function.
World innovation MOVEO HERMES: fully automatic and sound-absorbing
Whether in new or old buildings, the MOVEO partition system ensures maximum space utilisation efficiency in modern project applications – thanks to its flexibility, low weight achieved through the use of advanced materials, sound insulation qualities and easy installation. At BAU 2007, DORMA is presenting a world innovation: MOVEO HERMES, a fully automatic movable wall offering enhanced sound-absorption. Each partition element is equipped with its own drive motor. At the push of a button, the panels travel automatically from their stacking location to their predetermined position. Without any further operator intervention, the integrated ComforTronic actuator then takes over, interlocking the elements, sealing them against the ceiling and floor, and securing the partition. A sound-absorbing acoustic surface further reduces resonance and exudes a pleasant calm for the perfect in-room ambience. The MOVEO HERMES is destined to be one of the “must haves” in multi-functional facilities for prestigious construction projects.
New technologies, individuality and design quality
Office landscapes need to be flexible in order to keep up with fast-changing organisational structures. With DORMA solutions architects and designers can integrate modern door technologies, prize-winning designs and individually tailored room configurations within a harmonious, functional and, above all, adaptable whole. Among the detailed solutions that help to make this happen are the TS 93 door closer in the Contur design and the PHA 2500 range of panic exit devices.
For the first time, the DORMA ENTRY concept – celebrating its world exhibition premiere – offers standardised façade and door systems. On show is just one example, in the form of a RODAN glass façade combined with a TEGO Glass entrance. And the design possibilities afforded to ambitious architects by the OGRO CREATE concept will be showcased in the form of selected door and window fittings, including the bespoke lever handle OGRO Bendo for the
Burj Dubai – at 700 metres the highest building in the world.
New solutions for integrated systems
At BAU 2007, DORMA will also be demonstrating the versatility of the TEGO door range of systems comprising TEGO Glass, TEGO Connect and TEGO Profile. Among the concepts exhibited will be a system for networking the TEGO Profile and TEGO Connect doors with the TMS door management system and the control capabilities of the DORMA Winguard Doormanager. All the functions will be graphically visualised. Another exhibition highlight is the TEGO Alu narrow-stile door solution which DORMA has developed with Hörmann, a company that specialises in aluminium profile systems. Electronic modules and door closers disappear into the frame profile, enabling the implementation of completely new, exceptionally elegant solutions. DORMA is also presenting the TEGO Glass system at the exhibition stand – with MANET single-point fixings for securing the all-glass leaf and a DORMA swing door operator in which the opening, closing and hold-open time settings are adjustable.
Comprehensive services from DORMA for tangible client added value
DORMA has always prioritised the provision of personal support for its customers in the form of extensive pre-sale and after-sales services. On show at the stand are various product-related software tools designed to assist and accelerate architects, specifiers and DORMA’s System Partners in the planning, specification and ordering of door systems and all-glass installations. Visitors to the fair will also learn more about the benefits and operation of the DORMA eShop with and without a direct ERP link, and the easyConnect offline product catalogue (USB pen-based) with configurator link-up.
In the field of after-sales, too, DORMA will be underlining its strength as a service provider. With a total of around 1,000 highly qualified service engineers worldwide, of which 150 are in Germany alone, DORMA has the densest service and maintenance network in the industry. Visitors will be able to familiarise themselves at the exhibition stand with specific packages aligned to banks, hospitals and other customer groupings. The advantages of the DORMA System Partner network will likewise be presented in detail to interested customers.
