DORMA expands its electric strike range while optimising its existing portfolio

Ennepetal. Last year, DORMA as a new entrant in the electric strike market launched its Lucky Strike module, an electronic control PCB for DC electric strikes which precluded the problem of jamming caused by high pre-loads while also providing a silent permanent-open function. At this year’s Security in Essen/ Germany, the company will be introducing a wide range of both improved and completely new electric strikes. These feature identical case dimensions of
20.5 x 76 x 28 mm to ensure uniform frame preparation requirements combined
with problem-free installation.
The new Fire model with symmetrical case, offers an innovative solution with its position-independent fire protection approval and non-handed applicability for LH and RH doors. And it too can be combined with the Lucky Strike to ensure unimpeded opening under pre-loads up to 200 N. Also new is the officially approved Smoke electric strike with adjustable keeper latch and compatibility with the Lucky Strike module. DORMA likewise offers a special electric strike for doors with a radius latch. This Radius Latch model is equipped with an adjustable radius latch while offering the same advantages as the standard DORMA electric strike, and again it can be combined with the Lucky Strike control module.
Finally, as a further development, DORMA is showcasing its Emergency Escape electric strike, which now not only impresses with its generally improved technology but also features an adjustable latch. As in the case of its predecessor model, the new version has integrated checkback monitoring contacts for signalling the active/inactive state. The flanged faceplate is available in two versions – either angled for over-rebated doors or flat for flush-closing meeting stiles. A side-load-immune release capability ensures that emergency escape routes are made ready for rapid egress. The electric strike range – covering all the major types required – is the result of in-house development and manufacturing and therefore comes with the functional reliability and overall quality associated with the DORMA name.
