Gallileo

“Gallileo” (note the double “L”) is how the Dresdner Bank has christened its new Group headquarters, deriving the name from its site next to the “Gallusanlage” park in Frankfurt. Novotny, Mähner & Assoziierte interpreted the headword “Transparency” upon which the competitive tender was based by providing two glass towers of 116 metres
and 132 metres in height as the essential pillars supporting their concept. The 22,000 square metres of speciality façade glazing covering 38 storeys symbolise the
company’s outward-looking, open approach as Germany’s “banking consultancy”. And easy, convenient access to the 57,000 square metres of office space within is likewise
ensured: the doors throughout the building are equipped with DORMA TS 93 closers and series ZS 8907 lever handles from OGRO. Sixteen disabled-access automatic swing doors and a TMS door management system for emergency exit control of 60 external doors were also provided by DORMA.
