The outgoing power supply is generally rated at 12 or 24V AC/DC. ED 200: Connect floating NO contact to terminals 7 and 8; ensure compliance with maximum power input - ED200/A 800 mA, ED200/B 1500 mA. CD 400 with 24V: Connect floating NO contact to terminals 3 and 6. CD 400 with 12V: Power is taken directly from the transformer (see instructions). Electric strikes operating at 6 to 8V AC can only be connected with a separate power supply unit (see question 2).

The support is provided in the first instance by the sales advisor. DORMA has a network of technical support personnel around the world to whom we can turn for assistance when required. Generally, the consultation and specification of the various possibilities will not cost you anything as we assume that we will also be awarded the implementation order. If technical clarification relating to security and emergency escape route technology should be required, please contact DORMA’s STA division: Cable diagram 65€/hour; wiring diagram 85€/hour (as per STA price list).

ED 200/A single-leaf with RMZ. ED 200/B single-leaf with RM or RM-ED. ED 200 double-leaf with RM or RM-ED. CD 400 single-leaf with RM or RM-ED. CD 400 double leaf with RM or RM-ED. Installation of ceiling-mounted smoke detectors: If the distance between the surface of the fire-rated ceiling and the bottom edge of the lintel/transom on at least one side of the door is greater than 1 m, two ceiling-mounted smoke detectors are required in addition to the lintel-mounted smoke detector. If the door is wider than 3 m and the distance to the fire-rated ceiling is less than 1m, two ceiling-mounted smoke detectors are again required. The ceiling-mounted smoke detectors from DORMA suitable for operation with the ED 200/CD 400 are: DORMA RM and DORMA RM-S. For ceiling-mounted smoke detectors by others, you will need to obtain the relevant approval certificates.

The specified door leaf widths relate to EN 1154. The door heights are not specified in that standard. The approval certificates relating to the doors and dimensions are determined (e.g. in Germany) by the door manufacturers. The maximum door weight specified for the operator must be adhered to. Please remember that, with high door weights, the operating speed will have to be reduced in order to compensate for the higher mass moment of inertia.

According to the “Guidelines for powered windows, doors and gates” (German code of practice ZH 1/494), the force value at the main closing edge of the door must be limited to 150 N. Safety protection is thus required for a static force in excess of 150 N. We do not have any operators in our range that exceed this force value. However, DORMA advises that safety devices should always be provided for personnel protection. In the new German standard DIN V 18650, reference is made to a dynamic force of 150 N. If this standard is adopted, only the CD 400 can be used without safety sensors.
