dormakaba, a global leader in secure and smart access solutions for buildings and rooms, was appointed by developer and contractor Ballymore to manufacture and install folding glass sliding wall systems at the Embassy Gardens, part of the Nine Elms development in Battersea, South London.
Embassy Gardens is the residential and commercial centrepiece of the Nine Elms area regeneration, consisting of luxury apartments on a site that will offer residents a host of one-off leisure facilities such as the Sky Pool, a transparent 25m swimming pool which will bridge two of the residential buildings, an exclusive cinema and other exclusive leisure, fitness and business facilities.
Working directly with developer and contractor Ballymore and Reddy Architecture, dormakaba installed 108 sets of its FSW-G glass folding sliding wall system within the residential units that have their own internal winter garden, allowing residents to enjoy their outdoor space whatever the weather. The FSW-G system is a minimalist, yet robust system allowing maximum visibility through the glass panels, with top and bottom rails on each panel for maximum stability. The folding movement creates a concertina effect, for ease of opening and closing, with a concise parked stack when opened.
Darren Hibberd Projects Manager at dormakaba said: “We are delighted to have been appointed as a supplier for the iconic Embassy Gardens area. The FSW-G folding sliding glass wall is an ideal solution for such a sophisticated and contemporary residential development. The system adds a touch of glamour whilst helping to maximise light and allowing occupants to enjoy magnificent views of this transforming district of London.”
Further works at the development are ongoing, with final completion scheduled for 2019. For more product information visit: www.dormakaba.com
