DORVISION – 24/7 real-time monitoring

Manual management of doors, their maintenance and associated security staff, can form a significant part of a building’s overheads.

DORMA has developed DORVISION – an intelligent door management system that provides efficient door monitoring and real-time remote handling of all the doors main controls as well as fault management.

DORVISION provides users with a host of building management attributes and can also be configured for remote locking and unlocking to happen automatically at pre-set times of day.

DORVISION can be interfaced with any type of automatic door, enabling multiple doors to be controlled from one central location helping to reduce costs, increase security and cut man hours.

Open and closed door policy

As part of a programme to reduce maintenance costs whilst improving security across its stadium and ancillary buildings, Premier League Football Club Blackburn Rovers conducted a review of the way they managed their entrances. It highlighted the rising costs of manually unlocking and locking doors, plus emergency and regular maintenance visits.

Requiring a solution that would cut man hours associated with manually opening and closing doors, and having been satisfied with the DORMA automatic door controls used throughout the stadium, Blackburn Rovers Football Club turned to DORMA’s innovative DORVISION solution.

At Blackburn Rovers, DORVISION was installed onto twelve existing sets of doors which already incorporated DORMA’s automatic swing and sliding door operators. These were located at various parts of the Ewood Park stadium including entrances for fans and players, a reception area and a retail shop. The club’s offsite merchandise store, located in Blackburn city centre, also had a requirement for a remote opening, closing and locking facility.

The system also provides SMS text message and email reporting direct to the customer should any problem arise with a door. As well as fault management, DORVISION monitors the performance of doors, reporting footfall trends that allow users to see how often the door is activated.

A league of its own

“DORVISION proved to be the intelligent door management system that met the club’s requirements and would allow remote opening and closing of the doors without the need to send security staff around the site, “ said Farah Aktar of Blackburn Rovers Football Club. “The system also played a key role in helping us to reduce our maintenance costs associated with servicing our automatic doors.”
