Main entrance is the first encounter of visitors to a building. The main entrance door should be reliable and easy to use for pedestrian to access with comfort safe.
Buildings located in windy areas are always faced with dilemma: High closing force of the entrance door in order to control the door against wind pressure but the door will be stiff to open or set the closing force to a low level in order to facilitate user to operate but the door will be vulnerable under great wind pressure and expose to the risk of damage to the door and injury to pedestrian.
The new electromechanical ED 100 and ED 250 swing door operators are equipped with DORMA wind-load control. This feature is activated with the aid of the Full-Energy Upgrade Card. While adjusted to Automatic mode, the system recognises and compensates wind loads with a force of up to 150 N (maximum admissible force).
In addition, the motor supports the spring during closing cycles and the electronic latching action helps to close the door properly. Furthermore, the wind load control actively changes the driving parameters in opening and closing direction in order to tailor the door’s driving behaviour to the prevailing weather conditions.
