Ennepetal. BAU 2013 impressively underpinned its reputation as one of the world's foremost trade shows for architecture, materials and systems, with a rise in international visitor numbers adding to the kudos. And this increasingly international mix was also apparent at the 850 m2 DORMA booth. In the course of the six days of BAU, the stand played host to architects, planners, specifiers, designers, fabricators and installers from a total of 76 countries. The influx from abroad contributed to a rise of 20 percent in recorded business contacts, as compared to DORMA’s figures for BAU 2011.
The booth’s allure derived not only from its impressive two-storey architecture, but also from the DORMA Forum at which guest speakers of renown offered a range of presentations with titles such as “The Future of Architecture,” “Barrier-free Access in Architecture,” and “Building Information Modeling.”
While the bare figures offer some indication of the interest levels generated, it was the positive resonance among the trade visitors to the display mix and the system supplier’s new brand identity that was the real sensation. “If you’re appearing at BAU, you really do have to put your best foot forward. And I think that, with our new brand identity and our exhibition stand, we were eminently successful on that score. Many of our visitors were impressed by the consistency and creativity with which we are able to bring the DORMA brand to life,” says Mario Dreismann, VP Group Marketing and Sales of the DORMA Group.
In keeping with DORMA’s show motto, “From Today to Tomorrow,” the upper floor of its booth was entirely given over to designs and product studies aligned to the future. And these attracted huge interest. “Quite justifiably, our customers expect us as a premium provider to offer viable concepts for the access solutions of tomorrow. Not for nothing is “Innovation” one of our five brand values, and it’s one that we intend to live up to in the years to come,” assures DORMA Group CEO, Thomas P. Wagner.
