Cologne/Ennepetal, Germany. DORMA was again able to celebrate a number of successes at the Architects Partner Awards ceremony, held this year in the “AIT-Architektur Salon" in Cologne. The outcome of a nationwide survey of some 1,800 architects and interior designers, carried out in collaboration with German trade journals AIT and xia, cannot fail to impress: In the Closer Systems/Locks and Fittings category, DORMA Project Support Manager Dr. Matthias Weber, who is responsible for the company’s Greater Berlin area, garnered gold as the best architects advisor. Recognized with silver in the Doors/Shutters and the Closer Systems/Locks and Fittings categories was Thomas Strohschein, DORMA Project Support Manager responsible for the Greater Hamburg/Schleswig-Holstein area. And DORMA was also awarded silver for its sales competence as one of the best companies in the Doors/Shutters and the Closer Systems/Locks and Fittings fields.
Joachim Zerfass, Head of DORMA Project Support Management in Germany, summed up the achievement thus: “Being recognized as a top company with top advisors in our industry speaks volumes for us, underlining the excellent reputation we enjoy among architects in Germany. So I would like to express my thanks to all those surveyed for their confidence in our project support managers and indeed in the company as a whole. These accolades are both confirmation and inspiration, encouraging us to continue meeting our customer’s needs and expectations to the full.” The selection procedure: The survey sent to around 1,800 architects was broken down into seven categories. The assessment was then limited to the ten most mentioned companies and architects advisors. The first place took gold and the runners-up took silver.
First choice among architects
Among architects and specifiers, DORMA is regarded as the number one international supplier of premium access products and systems. With its holistic approach, comprehensive portfolio and wide-ranging support services, the company still – more than 100 years after it was founded – leads the industry as one of its trail-blazers. “We are by far the supplier with the broadest product range of all our competitors, giving us the ability to offer a one-stop shop for a broad cross section of applications. And that helps our partners to save significantly in both time and money,” says Joachim Zerfass, underlining the advantages of the DORMA system concept.
Market-focused product portfolio, worldwide supply
Around the world, the company supports architects in the implementation of their ideas – with technically refined and, at the same time, cost-efficient solutions. DORMA’s international network of project managers ensures that planning activities can be effectively supported even where several countries are involved at the same time. DORMA puts its partners in contact with local employees who are fully familiar with the specific circumstances surrounding each site and project.
In Germany, Switzerland and the Benelux countries alone there are 20 project support managers available to meet the special requirements of architects and specifiers. And with just one such key point contact, these professionals are able to talk about just about any door-, partition- or access-related issue likely to occur. Country-specific product specifications, regional requirements and building regulations are therefore quickly identified and the hurdles jointly negotiated to maximum effect. The “DORMA System Partners” network also guarantees professional workmanship on the installation and maintenance front. A total of 750 firms in the woodworking, metal fabrication, glass systems, sanitary products and electrical segments have already joined together in the network, exclusively offering products from DORMA’s portfolio within the industry.
Numerous services have been developed to support architecture and design professionals in their daily work. For example, complete toughened glass shower systems or swing door sets are available for viewing at the nearest DORMA System Partner’s premises. DORMA’s experts have also developed a demonstration module showcasing the technology of the Security, Time and Access (STA) division that can be scrutinized at member firms’ showrooms. DORMA-specific architectural catalogues and tailored training courses provide detailed information and insights into equipment functionalities. And for architects and specifiers committed to continuous professional development – in line with the precepts of their professional associations – DORMA also offers a programme of specialist seminars.
