Schwäbisch Hall/Ennepetal, Germany. At the launch of the latest edition of the compendium of German world market leaders ‘Lexikon der deutschen Weltmarktführer’, Helge Wego, Head of Corporate Communications at door system manufacturer DORMA, received the ‘ Plume’ world market leadership award from Dr. Florian Langenscheidt and Prof. Dr. Bernd Venohr at a ceremony held in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany. German companies are the international market leaders in one out of three industries. And 750 of these companies have been included for the first time with a portrait entry in the ‘Lexikon der deutschen Weltmarktführer’. This reference work of more than 690 pages is edited and published by Dr. Florian Langenscheidt and scientific expert for family-owned companies, Professor Dr. Bernd Venohr. DORMA features with a four-page report in the ‘Lexikon’. As a symbolic gesture, all the world market leaders represented at the ceremony were presented with a ‘Plume’, an award especially designed and sculpted for the occasion by German porcelain manufacturer Meissen.
“Once more, one cannot but help be impressed by the contribution made by our SMEs in providing the foundation for Germany’s export successes,” commented co-publisher Dr. Florian Langenscheidt. Our ‘Lexikon’ offers a unique insight into the elite of German industry – from the automotive sector and renewable energy to medical engineering and door access systems. Together, they with their innovative skills and process quality epitomise the internationally recognised mark of quality that the words 'Made in Germany’ have become. A high-calibre committee of eight, comprising representatives from industrial associations, the media, research establishments and the financial sector, worked together with the co-editors on both structuring the ‘Lexikon’ and selecting its content. The ‘Lexikon der deutschen Weltmarktführer’, published by Dr. Florian Langenscheidt and Prof. Dr. Venohr, hard cover edition with dust cover, 697 pages, ISBN: 978-3-86936-221-2, is available in all good book stores at a recommended retail price of €79.00.
